I’m on a trip to Berlin with a study abroad program from my photojournalism for about two weeks. I’m taking many photos and posting some to share with the world.
05/15 & 05/16: Berlin … one day at a time.
At the end of day two, I find myself with a decent amount of shots. With the lack of Internet in my room, I’m forced to combine yesterday’s photos and today’s in this post. So, here are some photos from our first few days in Berlin.
05/17: Taking a Walk
Today, we went on a walking tour of the city, stopping at the the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. After hanging out at Checkpoint Charlie for a while, we went to Potsdamer Platz to meet with Stine to make a friend and talk about possible subjects.
05/18: Shopping and Graffiti
Today a few of us met up with Julianna Samper, a photography student from the University of Florida who took the Berlin trip last year. We did some shopping, some eating and even got to see some awesome graffiti.
05/19: Biking Through The City
Today, we went on an awesome four-hour bike tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours. Blakely, our guide, was really cool and knew his stuff. We got to see a lot of Berlin, including a large piece of the wall that has been painted.
05/26: A Tour Through Sachsenhausen
Today, a few people from the class and I took a tour out to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and Memorial. I was very hesitant about going, and then about joining the tour group, but the guide convinced me to go with everyone else instead of wondering off on my own.
